Fatima Mendoza, FNP-C

Fatima Mendoza, FNP-C, was born and raised in the Philippines, where the foundation of her values, faith, and dedication to service first took root. Growing up in a family of healthcare professionals, her father a dentist and her mother a pharmacist, she was inspired early on by their compassion and commitment to helping others. In honor of them, she carries forward their legacy in everything she does, recognizing the profound influence of their guidance and example.

In 1992, Fatima earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Manila Doctors College. Two years later, in December of 1994, she migrated to the United States and began her career as a Registered Nurse at Pampa Medical Regional Center in Pampa, Texas. There, she served in the Intensive Care Unit as a charge nurse and also gained experience working part-time in the cardiac catheterization lab.

Motivated to continue advancing her education and career, Fatima moved to Amarillo, where she worked in the Coronary Care Unit at BSA Hospital. During this time, she deepened her clinical expertise and strengthened her passion for patient care. In May of 2007, she achieved a significant milestone by earning her Master of Science in Nursing, specializing as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

In June of 2007, Fatima began her role as a Family Nurse Practitioner at BSA Urgent Care Clinic. Her professional journey continued to grow when she started working part-time with Dr. Alan Keister in August of 2014. By 2016, she transitioned to a full-time position with the practice, where she has remained ever since. She is deeply committed to her work and is known for providing compassionate, high-quality care to her patients.

In addition to her clinical work, Fatima is passionate about serving her community. Since 2014, she has volunteered regularly as a Nurse Practitioner at Heal the City, an experience she finds both meaningful and fulfilling.

Outside of her professional life, Fatima is devoted to her family. She has been married to her husband, Peter Joel Mendoza, for 25 years, and together they have raised three daughters. Rosemarie, 24, works as an analyst with Diamondback Company in Midland, Texas. Marjorie, 22, is pursuing a degree in biomedical engineering at the University of North Texas. Macie, 20, is studying nursing at West Texas A&M University, following in her mother’s footsteps.

Faith plays a central role in Fatima’s life. She is an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, where she serves as a Master Server. Her spiritual journey continues to guide her purpose in both her personal and professional life.

Reflecting on her journey, from the Philippines to the United States and from nursing student to Family Nurse Practitioner, Fatima remains deeply grateful for the opportunities she has received, the people who have supported her, and the ability to serve others through her work each day.
